This is the second part of the tiny little dots on the photos.
I took my D800 to the dealer I purchased this camera from. I explained the tiny dots and also the what looked like scratches on the photo. The dealer has had the camera since November 12. I was told by the clerk who took my camera that "Nikon has had problems with oil on the sensor and this is a well known problem". I was then told that the camera would be shipped to California because they did not want to send anything to Mellville because of the hurricane.
Today I called about the status of my camera repair, and I was told that the camera was sent to Mack Camera as the clerk wrote the repair ticket as "señor cleaning", even though the ticket states "manufacturers repair". The store sent my camera to New Jersey to get "cleaned" by Mack Camera. The store says it has no idea when my camera will be returned.
I am veyr upset this store did not do what it said it would, which was to send the camera back to Nikon. I am concerned someone other than Nikon is working on my camera while it is still under warranty. Can anyone tell me if by Mack Camera now fixing my camera, will this void my warranty with Nikon?
And not being told when the camera will be returned is also upsetting as I have photos to take next weekend.
