I'm sorry to hear of your repair problems.
I keep reading about Nikon repair horror stories and it really makes me feel very uncomfortable. I went through a similar experience several years ago. Personally, I'm very disappointed in Nikon and shudder to think what will happen to my equipment if something goes wrong with it.
I'm wondering if there is a way to start an electronic wave of emails that could be sent to Corporate Nikon to improve their service. Or is there a Nikonian out there who could set up a simple voting page with e.g. these choices: (1) I am very disappointed in Nikon repair service, (2) I am very satisfied with Nikon repair service, (3) I am somewhat pleased with Nikon repair service, and (4) I am somewhat dissatisfied with Nikon repair service.
Perhaps it's time for us to express our opinions to Nikon based upon large numbers of their customers. That's the only way to get attention these days. And if the vote comes out in Nikon's favor, then we can feel better about sending our equipment in for repairs.
