I do not own a D800 or D800E although it is on my Nikon wish list and makes me wonder if I shoud sell or trade in the D200 and D3X and buy one.
For me all the photos, all the photos here are excellent and inspire me to go out and take more photos or, as Anthony Bourdain stated last night on the final episode of "No Reservations," to "...get off the couch, move, and do something... whether across the street or across the world." The San Francisco Bay Area where I live swims in photo opportunities just a few hours drive from my house - Muir Woods alone, I can spend everyday there and not exhaust the opportunities.
I read with regret about the experiences Nikonians here have had with the public's and law enforcement's reaction to photographing people especially children. It is a different world that we live in. (Although when the kids deliberately stand between the camera and the scene knowing they're fouling the shot, that appears to be ok with the parents - go figure.)
So this weekend, I'm taking the D200, D3X, and lenses and heading to Angels Camp, Muir Woods (even though my girlfriend does not understand why I keep going back there), Mare Island, Mount Tamalpias, etc. And when I consider my photos equal to the quality evidenced here, they'll be posted.
