I am just getting into learning bird photography. I love the resolution, color and dynamic range of the D800 to help me capture a favorite picture of a humming bird perching on a pear branch in front of my living room. Nikon engineering has done a fantastic job with the D800 !!!
This picture was taken hand-held with a 28-300mm Nikon lens at 300mm, 1/320 sec, f/5.6 with ISO 900 using Matrix metering. Its raw image was adjusted using LightRoom4. No pixel editing was performed on the image.
I learned how to use the D800 mostly from reading Darrell Young book's Mastering the Nikon D800.
Your critical comments of this picture are welcome and appreciated to allow me to become a better photographer.
