As far as I can tell, I have the "Auto Set" parameters at their default values of 10 min and 1 min. First some nomenclature. There are three buttons on the Solmeta, "Menu", "Enter" and what I will call "Power". The following sequence works on my D800.
- With all powered off, connect the GPS to the ten pin. - press and hold the Power button of the GPS until the GPS screen responds, release the button and wait for numbers to display - press the GPS Power button again. "AUTO" will flash on the screen - press the Enter button on the GPS. The "AUTO" will stop flashing and become solid. - turn on the D800. The GSP display should respond. - turn off the D800. After about 60 - 90 seconds the GPS display should return to displaying "AUTO"
I am not sure if it matters whether or not the GPS has a signal. So, if this sequence doesn't work and you are inside, you might want to try outside.
