I'm heading to the sand dunes this weekend. I plan to stick with my fixed barrel lenses and have wrapped both the lens and camera in clear plastic with just the filter exposed. I'm still nervous about the harsh environment since the blowing sand is so incredibly fine.
I would appreciate any suggestions about how to best prepare for this type of environment. There is so much to photograph that I would hate to resort to my P&S, but I wonder if I'm risking too much taking the D7000 into the sand.
