Very relevant comments Stan.
The lenses you mention with the FX format (plus the 14-24mm) are the ideal wedding lenses.
The D300s in the UK in late November dropped about £150 and now remains low. The D90 & D700 in many outlets are now lower too, but not by such a margin. The D7000 is also lower, but that's to be expected as with all new dSLR's after a few months.
It's all guess work, but my feeling is that the replacement will be for the D300s next as the D7000 has overshdowed it in so many ways, despite it's annoying traits. Oh, they are so annoying too, but provide great fun for those who love camera fiddling! Then the D700 replacement I think.
I do so agree that both the D700 and D3s will be the hardest acts to follow. The only thing I am sure of there will be no jumping in the deep end for me this time. I need about 2 years to recover from the effects of the D7000
