Just to follow-up on this comment of yours: - "My only complaint is that when you do remove the grip, you need 2 separate covers for the contact points on the D300s and 1 for the D7000. The problem is these tiny covers are small, easy to misplace and you would not want to go out shooting without them."
- for the longest time I never knew till I was out with a buddy, but within the MB-D10 grip itself, there is a place to store the little rubber L-shaped D300 camera contacts cover. So that cover can be held on the D300 camera body itself or within the grip, so you always know where it is! - I don't know if the D7000 grip has a similar holder.
