After selling my second MB-D11 I have decided I really don't need a grip. The battery in the camera lasts a long time, plus I have a spare. It adds weight and bulk to the camera. It is overpriced for what it does. No matter how tightly you have secured to the camera, there is still play. I think the only people who need this are those who shoot a lot and don't have time to change batteries, which really is quick and simple.
Nope, for me it is a needless and expensive device. That's just my opinion, but I speak from experience. Oh, and I had a Meike, and sold that as well. Just not as solid as the Nikon grip.
