It depends on how you use your DX body.

With the D7100...

You gain – about 1 stop of High ISO Performance and Dynamic Range, more Resolution, a more Sensitive AF system, better overall image quality.

You lose – speed Frames per second, Buffer capacity, some exterior controls, and some menu options.

Other considerations – you get a different battery, it only takes SD cards and body is smaller.
