Hi Derek,

I think you are correct. In fact, if you place the dial on CL or CH and hold down it is similar and will only focus with the first shot.

Related to that, I leave my shutter setting to CL and just let up after the shot, then if I need more shots, I can just hold it down a bit longer. In this case I would have to lift my finger up all the way then depress the shutter release again to get a new focus.

All this using AF-S.
