I have both the D7th and D600. My comparison is without the Katz eye screen.
The D600 has a larger viewing screen and is thus much easier to manually focus than the D7th without the Katz eye screen. They are comparable in size and features, some of the drawbacks have already been stated here.
The D600 is the closest to my old film camera. I find it difficult to manually focus with DX bodies. With the exception of the Canon, your lenses should function fine on the D60.
