It would only be natural for anyone to be put off from buying a D7000 from this thread, and from several others that there have been. It would be great and refreshing if there were hard statistics available comparing the reliability of various camera models, - numbers. But I suppose the only people who could do that would be Nikon or the repair and retail centres that they partner with. Or maybe an independent consumer outfit like "Which Magazine". I'm sure that kind of good quality information is available when it comes to cars and washing machines and important things like medical procedures.
But, even with the most reliable information, at the end of the day, you just have to take your chances and hope that what you get is on the successful living side of the statistical split, and not in the fatal fuzzy focused failure fraction. So hope for the best, but don't be too surprised if it doesn't work out that way.
