Good advice. The target focus object was my next step. A DOF calculator would indicate about the best DOF i can muster given my current setup is about a quarter of an inch.Experimenting with the light source to greater define edges that are not too well defined is a good idea. I'm not too concerned about the lighting as I shoot raw and can fix most anything except focus in Lightroom/Photoshop.
The 18-200 is the only lens I have right now. If I do more of this work I wonder what lens would do a better job?
I use a single point focus and lock focus with the back button.
