Then it must have been some sort of "immaculate defect-ion" that bent the blades/vanes in the shutter because there was no drop, no bang or any sort of camera body abuse itself. I'm sorry that no one believes me when I say that but all my camera equipment is in pristine condition.
I'm at the point now where I really don't care anymore other than getting my D7000 back.
However, I will go out of my way to tell potential buyers to beware of Nikon's warranty policy and to deal with Nikon directly rather than going through a retailer.
Sorry for the venting folks but I am afraid this is what customer service has come down to nowadays...it's an absolute shame.
