Don't think that is relevant, my D700 was received a couple of years ago brand new at the then latest state and has been maintained as such ever since.
As for differences in the latest version I see no difference and cant see why there would be unless Nikon announced it as part of the update.
How has your exposure been changed, is it in the range we are talking about ie up to one stop?
