You already sent your camera off to Nikon, yes?
If not, or, for future reference, go to Menu, Setup Menu, press the > on the direction pad, go to Battery Info and press the > key to select it. Your Battery Info Screen opens.

Bat. (Battery) Meter: % of power left in your battery

Pic. (Picture) Meter: how many images you've taken so far using this charge

Charging Life: (0-4): Is your battery status. A small yellow triangle indicator is above a number from 0-4. 0 displays your battery is new and 4 displays you need to consider replacing your battery.
