Elio -- You'd have my sympathy for the Metz and battery pack -- if I hadn't started with the Graflex Stroboflash the size of a meat tenderizer maul with a battery pack half the size of a cement block and about as heavy. That was with a small news paper in Wisconsin and then later in the Navy School of Photography in Pensacola -- both in the 60s. Once at a fire for the paper, I inadvertently allowed the cord to fall from the flash head into water and was able to walk on the water for about 6 feet -- as I vaguely think I remember! The battery pack was 450 volts I think. People who saw this happen swore that bright light shot out of my eyes! It felt like I imagine getting hit by lightening would feel.
