If you decide not to replace the screen, there is still the issue of what is causing the haze, as you might be able to prevent it from getting worse. Do you clean the screen using ammonia or products containing ammonia? Perhaps alcohol? If you don't use any cleaner, I can't think of any cause other than heat or heat and direct sunlight.
Let us know; we'd all like to avoid this problem.
