Here's two photos of my favorite girl model, 1st at f1.2 and then f4.0. The photos were shot raw at ISO 100 with the D700 and AIS 50mm f1.2. The focus point was the eyelashes. No post processing except for down sampling and saving as jpg. Note the softness and vignetting in the first photo.
While I like both photos I think there is a certain artistic quality to the first one I find appealing. That includes the vignetting.
edit: The photos are full frame, no cropping. The focus distance was at a minimum of 0.5 M. The lighting was a combination of tungsten and daylight from a south window on the left. I used auto WB and did not try to correct. It's a little warm.
