I've been using the Black Rapid for 3 years and lot it. I use it primarily on the lens foot of my 70-200 2.8 and seldom on the camera tripod mount. I just drop the larger lens to my side when switching lenses and mount a smaller lens when needed. Since I always have a hand strap also mounted, I use the light camera and small lenses with support by the hand strap alone. It really solves the hand fatigue that a 8+ hour event can induce. The hand strap is just loose enough to allow slipping my hand in securely, instantly, which the larger lens are mounted, and the camera/lens/flash are hanging effortless by my side. That is my standard set up if an indoor event or a sunny Sunday afternoon in the park....flash is just as useful, as fast lenses in mid day as evening indoors. That weight could be tiring if not supported away from the neck or by conventional straps.I took my original Nikon neck strap off the second day i got back into photography with my first DSLR and tossed it.
