"RE: Coolscan V scans not good."
JimThat is very kind of you. I shall have a careful look at that tomorrow.Meantime, I was having such a hard time (slide viewer and projecting not working) that I sent off to 'quick test' for some proper optical viewing aids.I bought:1. A beautiful Loupe. 10x20mm (one of those things that looks like a small lens but supported by a clear plastic collar.2. A jewellers loupe (one of those fold out 'triplet' types, 10x 18mm wide.3. A pocket microscope, 45x.with it's own LED ilumination.I was just at my wits end as I had no real idea if a slide is ACTUALLY sharp or not.For info, the 45x will be in my young daughters stocking- a brilliant bit of kit!The jewellers Loupe is utterly brilliant, butThe standing loupe seems the way to go.I looked at a slide I'd scanned. The scan was rubbish, the slide utterly perfect.I have much to learn.
