"Coolscan V scans not good."
Hi Folks.like a lot of Nikonians, I've got boxes and boxes of Kodachrome 64 slides.Time to sort them out!I'm going to try and go through a couple of boxes a night. I'll scan the best ones with the Nikon Coolscan V ED that I've got, and label up and store the lot.Anyway, made a start on it tonight, but the results are not so hot. The actual slides are lovely and contrasty (as you'd expect from K64), the scanned pix are decidedly lacking in contrast though. What brought work to a halt this evening was a lovely slide of my daughters at a wedding. They were holding red roses and one had bright red lipstick, it all looked very drab on the scan though. Is this all that I can expect, or am I going to have to try and fix them in pp'ing (I'm a rank amateur at this).Maybe I've set the Coolscan up wrong?I've set it for Kodachrome and it's outputing 'excellent quality' JPEGs.Any ideas where I'm going wrong?I don't want to do any more until I've sorted this out.RegardsSimon
