I totally agree with Aart's comments.
IMHO the point is that orchids are 'deployed' in different planes.
Difficult to explain in my limited English, but I mean that an orchid image has interesting details in separate planes, ending up with a tremendous requirement for DOF often incompatible with macro or close-up.
That's why I talked about focus stacking. I want to tryit one day with an orchid.
