LOL... I have always gotten a bit of a kick from reading Ansel Adams' notes on his images. One thing that always gets me is the use of different units for the focal lengths. For example, on a 4x5 format, a moderate telephoto (say portrait length) is "8 inches." So different from millimeters that we usually talk about, even if 8 inches is about 200mm. But here the effective focal length is TWO METERS!
The 1000/f11 may be a mirror lens, but it's one of the best.
