Ken I got the Olympus 14-42 lens, as it came as a kit for only $100 more than the body. There is also a rebate good for a free 4/3 to m4/3 lens adapter or a small flash that can be used as a remote. Not a bad deal. I looked at the kit with the 12-50mm lens, but the lens was a lot bigger (but supposedly water proofed)and $200 more expensive. What I wanted was compactness with most of the DSLR features that the P&S cameras lack. The OM D EM-5 seems to me to be the best compromise for my use. It will be interesting to see what the future brings in the way of new 4/3 lenses. Some of the ones now available are very interesting, with fast wide angles and telephotos now out, and more manufacturers jumping in. I am still wondering what the rumored Nikon FX body will cost, as I have good selection of lenses from my film days I could use.
