Thanks everyone. I am going to Seattle on Wendesday and will take the larger Manfrotto 190XPROB (23in. folded w/out head, aluminum). I won't have a new CF pod for this trip.
Question for all the traveler photographers. How do you seem to carry around your pod when walking the city. Do you only tend to bring on specific location shoots or do you also lug it around with you when walking around say, Pikes market, wharf, city, etc.
I have a ThinkTank streetwaker pro bag to get everything to Seattle, but I think that is too large to trek the streets. Do you take a smaller backpack to put the tripod in or do you just leave it in the hotel for those days of sightseeing/photography? Tips would be great.
I will continue to research CF and will look for updates on the Gitzo 2542T is available. Thanks for all your help!
