If you are trying to build up a Magica over time you should look at the prices of the various Systematic and Mountaineer tripods from local sources as well as the ProShop. Ultimately you only care about leg length since the mount will go on the shelf, replaced by the hub.
In the USA, historically Systematics were cheaper. That was not the case when the latest Gitzo systematic line was introduced but prices are now heading back where they should be (I think). But that is USA pricing. I do not know how this stacks up in Italy where you would be buying.
If you buy it all at once you more or less get free Titanium spikes (paying $40 net, verses more than that for a set of Gitzo steel spikes). Mountaineer tripods do not come stock with spikes, but the newer Systematics do, so that adds to the complexity of how you might approach this.
