I use a Sunwayfoto XB-52 ballhead with their Duo-Lever 60 clamp. The clamp has both a screw knob and a lever which operates in the typical 180 degree arc of movement. Pull it back straight away from locked to 90 degrees and its loose enough to allow the QR plate to slide, pull the detent on the lever and move it another 90 degrees and the clamp is open enough to remove the QR plate. Any QR plate. The screw knob is really just a very quick way to adjust for any plate size if needed. I find it very convenient as for whatever reason my KIrk plates are not the same size. RRS is said to be slightly wider and if I decide to buy their macro focusing rail, I have no worries. So far I have used Kirk plates, lens foot and L brackets, one RRS plate which fit like my Kirk, one Sunwayfoto plate, I tried my son's L bracket from Pro Media and a P&S plate for my X100 from Hejnar Photo. All work fine and a few needed slight take up using the quick and easy screw knob. This is my 3rd Sunwayfoto clamp and all of them work exceptionally well, all are very well made.
