The Manfrotto 209 (Bogen 3007) is very solid and tiny - a rare combination. What's best about it is you can put a decent head on it using a 3/8" standard thread, so you're not stuck with a tiny, weak miniball.
It's cheap, too. The only negative is that the cork feet want to fall off immediately, leaving metal feet exposed for tabletop use. I found some felt that I cut with a paper punch that sticks pretty well.
