"RE: D100"

The D1 series when first looking at them could be mistaken for a F5. Looking closer they are a digitalized F100. Why ? Nikon didn't call the D1 an D100.
Naming the new DSLR D100, does one thing, Its despenses away the idea Nikon will name a Digital SLR after its Film counterpart.
Have to admit seeing D100 at first glance one thinks digitalized F100. No doubt there'll be sales made with that misunderstanding. A misunderstanding between a Pro body and Prosumer body. A pitch some unscrupulous sales ppl will use.
Seeing the Specs the D100 is excellent. Close to Specs of a D1x. Beyond its price, it's size is what sells it in my opinion. D100 size and weight no matter its construction material is excellent. To think an "adverage sized Nikon Digital SLR" boggles the mind a bit
