Thank you ever so much-- I'm setting up a serious sales pitch at my weekly newspaper to go digital, and I'm using the D100's breakthrough pricing (and our inventory of Nikkor AF lenses) as a heavy portion of my pitch. One of my theories has always been that the camera will be dropped, bruised and placed out of commission-- but the pain of the repairs and/or replacements will be easier to absorb than the D1's. Of course I'd love a D1-- but it's not in our budget. Thanks again--this adds measurably to my arsenal. To show my commitment to the project, I've already purchased my own N80 (yes, out of my own pocket), as my way of showing I'm familiarizing myself with the basics -- (hey--Once the deal is good, the N80 is mine! --Tom
