I'm in for either D100 or S2. I have a F100, Nikon, Tokina lenses and using a Sprintscan4000 to scan and an Epson 1280 to print at a max size of 13 x 19. I made my decision after I downloaded samples of 6MP fine jpegs (S2 and D60) from the Net.
Up to 13 x 19 the prints from the 6 MP samples appear to be cleaner and crispier than scanned samples.
The quality degrades when you have to do a significant amount of cropping. That's when the higher resolution from the scans (aprox 5500 x 3800) weighs in.
