I have a D100, Nikon View, and the fully-functional trial version of Nikon Capture 3 that comes with the D100. Your assessment of Capture vs View largely agrees with mine.

As far as I can see, the biggest difference is that Capture allows you to perform batch-processing of any number of files. This is important to professionals. View only lets you adjust and convert files on an individual basis.
