A portable CD-R the size of a CD would be neat. With the need becoming more obvious daily maybe one will show up any day now to fill the need.
Your experience with the D1 gives you an advantage over those of us who have basicaly used only a coolpix type camera. Frankly, I am learning a lot very rapidly. Shooting with a DSLR is quite a bit different in ways I never suspected from shooting with a film based camera. It is a lot of fun right now, but in time it will have to become a tool to get to a goal, in this case some images I feel good about. I know that will come, but I must admit I am a bit surprised at how much I have to learn at this stage.
You have been a big help. I hope you won't mind if I bother you again sometime.
PS The Digital Wallet people have changed their name to something I can't quite remember right now. They have a 20 gig storage unit about the size of a Palm Pilot that is about the same price as the one-half gig IBM Microdrive. Seems like a better deal to me. Around here right now the " sweet spot" is at the 256 Meg CF card level. Buy two or three of those and one of the 20 gig units from Digital Wallet and you are set. The bad news: the DW units are back ordered most of the places I have looked in town.
