"Advice on the D100"
Hello,I have been toying with buying the F100 or the F80 recently and I just ran across a site here in Japan. There is a good camera shop running a special deal to buy the D100 on credit. It would be 5300 yen a month for 48 months, a little under $50 a month. I would end up paying about $2100 for the camera over the four years. It would be about $200 in interest. But, the deal I see here, is that I spend an average of 7000 to 9000 yen a month ($60-75) on film and processing. In the long run I would save about $100 a year in Film and processing, more than making up the loss interest. The question is: is the D100 a professional camera with professional results? I like using my 24mm Nikkor and my 50mm Nikkor (not a zoom guy at all). How much of a drawback is the 1.5X of the CCD compared to 35mm film? Would my lenses effectively become a 37mm and a 75mm?How do people feel about this issue?Another question, with the fastly changing digital world, would I regret the purchase after a couple of years when the D200 comes out?Any comments would be appreciated. I know these are a lot of questions, but I have a lot of them.Thanks,Andrew-----------Oregonian Nikonian presently found on Shikoku, Japanhttp://homepage.mac.com/fundy/photography/
