I have found bokeh rendering to be virtually the same from film to my D100 or D1. I noticed long ago that my 400mm f/2.8 has a distinctly bad bokeh when used with the TC-20E converter. The out-of-focus highlights look exactly the same on film or either of my D-cameras.

I don't have any examples handly right now.
