How is bokeh with D100?

The "quality" of the blur in the out of focus area of a photo with shallow depth of field.

Generally better bokeh means a smother transition between colors and light and dark areas.

I believe that this has more to do with the lens (number of leaves in the aperture) and quality/number of glass elements than with the camera sensor. But I could be wrong about that.
