Thanks Alan. Sorry that I can't report now if this the lens problem or not, because of my hectic day (still have time to open Nikonians.org at least once a day) I'll try.
Since this thread has been open by about 121 Nikonians and nobody reply but you. I think they don't experience this AF problem. although that I must admit that I'm very fond of the sharpness of the picture. I agree that D100 result is not very sharp out of the box. But it happened to me in RAW, that my close-up portaiture is so sharp. No need to add sharpness. (Even I can say the quality is near to Phase One H5 using Hasselblad) When it comes to full body shoot the sharpness decrease a lot. I wish to hear more from anybody.

PS. Where is the Digital Darrel, haven't heard him in this forum.
