A good starter lens is the AF 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 D IF. Good range, sharp, not that expensive. Currently at B&H its $325 less $80 rebate.

Non AI & AIS and other Manual Focus lenses (most made earlier than 1977) - NO, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOUNT. IT WILL DAMAGE YOUR METERING TAB! - These can be converted to AI and CPU, see below.
