Actually almost all Nikkor lenses available in the market is works with a D100.
AF lenses will works best. Which lens is the best? That's hard question, the answer is what kind of photography did you do? The newer lenses came with type D or G. D lens will works best even in older camera like Nikon F4, while G lens (they have low-end and high-end type, just see the price) is only for newer camera like F5 and DSLR.
Don't forget lots of Tamron, sigma, etc that will also works best in your D100.
