"D100 flash"

I have just joined this forum and am looking forward to continued good discussions.

My question is this...I just purchased the D100 having come from an Olympus E-10. I notice that the flash bracketing goes from -3 EV to only +1 EV. Why not +3 EV? The built in flash seems to need more exposure not less. At +1 EV (1/3 step selected) the exposure seems like it could still use a bit more. I thought of trying 1/2 EV steps.

I have tried an external Metz 40MZ in Auto mode and in all cases I can get beautiful exposures if my Flash is set to 1 f/stop smaller (i.e. more light output) than the D100 is using.

It seems as though the D100 is off a bit....or is it me?

Regards,

Mike
