Hi Tom,

I agree with James. Send the D300 to Nikon Service or a Nikon Authorized Service Station and get an estimate. With the exception of the sensor requiring replacement, it is usually cheaper to repair a camera body than replace it. At least with an estimate in hand you will be able to make an informed decision.
