Easy enough for those not too faint-of-heart. You can find instructions here. The trick is to remove the bail (retainer spring) without scratching the screen and not lose the shim(s) (if present). I believe the grid is not resident on the focusing screen, though. If it is an alignment issue then a repair shop (or Nikon) might be your best recourse.
