This is the truth, well expressed. As some blogger observed, 95% of all available cameras can take publishable photos. The corollary, of course, is that 95% of users can't (or don't).
I'm happy driving my 8 y/o Subaru. It gets me there as competently as a new Beemer might. If I really needed to drive cross country in record time and ultimate comfort, I'd upgrade. But I don't, so I won't. Enjoy your D200.
