Hi Roger,

The Tamron and Kenko TC's are optically and mechanically identical.

Verify that all of the electrical contacts on the lens, TC, are projecting out the same distance. They are spring loaded and can get jammed in.
If they are ok, try cleaning all of the electical contacts on the Lens, TC, and camera body with DeOxit on a Q-Tip.
