Hi Richard,

While 202v is less than the 250v max. The OP's copy might be higher since Vivitar made some changes over the years of production.
Given that the Sync voltage of Nikons current Speedlights are less than 6v and have been for well over 20 years, why risk an expensive repair to the camera by using an old Flash unit (GN: 18/60) that is only slightly more powerful than the built-in TTL Speedlight (GN: 13/42).
Too much risk for too little reward.
The Wein Safe-Sync is cheap insurance.
