I too was worried (lets say, just plain scared) of doing a wet clean but, like you having looked at instructional videos and scoured this and other forum, bit the bullet and ordered from "Visible Dust"
My problem was one of (probably) oil spots from the shutter mechanism which seems to be something fairly common with new Nikon cameras. Blowing was no good and they were big enough and numerous enough to be annoying to have to deal with via Photoshop.
As long as you have steady hands and a good light, (a magnifying loupe is a near nessessity), as well as, as previously mentioned, a fully charged battery, it is not a difficult job and nothing like as scary after the first time!!
