I have the MC-30 and endorse its bulletproof'ness. The nice thing about the Phottix remote (which I also have) is that for a small price (about $5 as I recall) one can get additional adapters to fit different camera models.
The Phottix which does not appear as robust as the Nikon remotes has given me no problems. Also handy if you do not require the radio remote operation then the unit on the camera can be used as a cabled remote (not needing a battery for this).
