dm1dave, Joseph K., and Marty, I've read page 394 - 395 in the D300s manual and it states: Buffer = 44/JPG LF, Buffer = 100 jpg MF and Buffer = 100 jpg SF. I've done as suggested and turned everythink off in the list Marty provided. I now get R21 Large fine jpg, R28 Medium fine jpg and R45 Small fine jpg. It seems 100 images of any size is impossible, once you hit the buffer you have to wait until a few are written before firing again. I don't have this problem with my D2x, it keeps firing until it reaches maximum buffer and then slows down. I plan to keep my D300s for a long time and I'm trying to get the maximum this fine camera provides.
